Southern Structures is an experienced groundwork, basement and concrete frame contractor working on some of the South’s most prestigious and challenging projects. With a proven record of delivering safe and high quality work, strengthening working relationships and building trust, the company is focused to continue delivering construction excellence and developing its people.

MEET THE LEADERSHIP TEAM
Luke Blanchard
Managing Director
Luke’s passion is to deliver high quality work all the way through from the tendering to construction process.
Over the last two decades Luke has been involved in various groundwork, basement and concrete frame schemes on the south coast where he has successfully brought the correct solutions and approach to the table that drives the critical path for mutual success with the client.
Luke likes working transparently and building trust with clients always looking at the bigger picture. Everything is possible and whatever it takes to get the job done will be done.
Neil Jackson
Construction Director
Neil brings a wealth of skill, knowledge and experience to the business having spent his entire career working on the south coast on either a concrete frame, complex waterproof structure, motorway bridge or water treatment plant.
The majority of Neil's work life was with MJ Gallagher (20 years +) working from Formwork Carpenter up to Contracts Manager, he then became Construction Director of the Concrete Frame arm at Blanchard Wells for 5 years where he and Luke Blanchard grew the business from £0 to £19m turnover in 5 years, cementing their reputation in the marketplace as reliable delivery experts that can be trusted.
Ben West
Operations Manager
Ben has worked with the directors for over 10 years working his way up the ranks from a Formwork Carpenter, to Site Manager and now Operations Manager. Ben has Project Managed a variety of complex groundwork, basement and RC frame jobs so understands the difficulties encountered on challenging ground conditions, earthwork support solutions, high tolerance and fair face reinforced concrete works.
Ben’s role is to plan all construction works before we carry them out onsite that focuses on Safety, Quality and Delivery. It comes natural to Ben to always do the right thing, this honest approach combined with his hard work ethic means we execute our works to high standards first time ahead of programme.
Ronan Walsh
Commerical Manager
Ronan has spent his working life quantity surveying in the civil engineering industry, working the majority of his career with J Coffey in London on some of the city's major projects. Now living on the South Coast with his family, Ronan brings a wealth of experience specialising in basement, groundwork and RC frame projects understanding the best outcome for our clients and the project requirements.
Ronan has a natural eye to foresee any commercial difficulties, keeping high levels of communication with our clients to strengthen our working relationships with no commercial surprises.
Ceri Gordon
Finance Director
Ceri keeps us compliant and manages all day to day accounting functions.
Ceri’s has been with the business from the start and has worked tirelessly to ensure the business runs smoothly. Ceri works closely with the entire team to provide up to date information for management reporting and to ensure its on track to achieve its targets.
Graham Butterworth
Preconstruction Manager
Overall accountability for the pre-construction element of the business; estimating, planning and logistics. Over 20 years in construction, working in civils, gas and electric infrastructure. Working initially ‘on the tools’ and working through to Site Manager, to Contracts Manager now into Pre-construction to utilise his knowledge and experience managing the estimating team.
Bernie
CEO (Chief Enjoys-Napping Officer)
Bernie is site security but on the odd occasion can usually be found laying fast asleep in front of cars trying to enter or leave the office.
